ISO/IEC JTC 1 SC 22 Working Group 9 (the group responsible for Ada Standards) is now using a more frequent schedule of updates, as in the modern world waiting 10 years for a major update is not acceptable. The plan is to produce some sort of (smaller) update to Ada roughly every three years, as well as using Technical Specifications to provide preview of major new proposals.
